This little volume is filled with exerpts from speeches, articles and newspaper columns from the Vermont born 13th president of the U.S. This man of few words has many gems which ring true today and we would do well to consider them.

A Tale of New England ($45) by Robert E. Shalhope acquaints us with the delightful Hiram Harwood, a farmer whose journals chronicle life in early Bennington. Hiram loved his books, his music, and his children, and he worked very hard. An absolute gem.
